  • Brief Introduction: Includes an overview of the major ecosystems across the regions of the Americas.
  • Iconic Endemic Animals: Explore key species, where to find them across North, Central, and South America. Discuss those that are endangered or vulnerable.
  • Top Wildlife Destinations: Yellowstone and the Rockies (USA/Canada), Monteverde Cloud Forest (Costa Rica), Galápagos Islands (Ecuador), Pantanal Wetlands (Brasil), The Amazon Rainforest (South America), and Patagonia & Torres del Paine ( Chile/Argentina).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Identify major ecosystems across the Americas.
  2. Recognise iconic and endemic animal species and their habitats.
  3. Identify top wildlife destinations in each region of the Americas.
