Mariam Farida

Dr Mariam Farida is a research scholar that has done extensive research in the Middle East about Islamophobia, Hezbollah and emerging minorities. She has two Masters Degree in Politics and International Relations and is now a doctoral student, examining the continuous successful recruitment of Hezbullah as a key indication for its political growth. She is of a Middle Eastern background and spent a great time in the region for further researching. She has also given papers on aspects of her research at conferences in Australia.

Terry Farrell

Terry has a BA (Literature and History) from New England and an MA (Education) from Fordham University N.Y. He has taught English, History and Economics in NSW and overseas for many years. He has worked as a teacher trainer in newly independent South Sudan. He has an abiding interest in literature, community theatre, politics and current affairs.

Jennifer Farrer

Jennifer Farrer is an experienced tour guide who regularly conducts guided walks in the Sydney bushland. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, has been a member of the Australian Plants Society since 1972 and has a Level IV TAFE Certificate in Tourism (Guiding). Through her business Boronia Tours she provides interpretive walks which explore the natural beauty of Sydney’s native flora and Sydney’s European and Aboriginal Heritage.

Charles Fellner

Charles Fellner is a retired IT professional from Sydney. After seeing various friends being scammed, he wanted to do something to fight back. Rather than creating yet another website on the topic he decided instead to do some thorough research and then conduct presentations and group discussions at various clubs such as Rotary and Lions on the subject of scam awareness. In these presentations his focus is on the more common scams. He explains what goes on behind these scams, the steps that one should take to avoid being scammed, and what one should do if they have been scammed. He also has a strong interest in the psychology of scamming and believes this is a very important and often neglected part of the puzzle. He talks with people almost every day about scamming every chance he gets.

Frank Feng

Frank Feng graduated from Tongji University in Shanghai. He has been introducing and promoting the Chinese culture to the public since he established the Chinese Traditional Culture Forum in 2010. He holds the position as the president of Australian Asian-Pacific Cultural Association since 2014. His passion is to bring Chinese traditional culture to more people and let people with different cultural backgrounds understand China more and facilitate more effective communication.

Gregory Flannery

Greg has a PhD in Linguistics from Macquarie University. He has been lecturing and tutoring at various universities for the last ten years. While completing his BA (Hons) degree in Linguistics at Macquarie University he also studied Philosophy, Cultural Studies, and Medieval Literature. He has published articles in the field of Language Policy and Planning and maintains a keen interest in Medieval Literature and many aspects of Philosophical inquiry.

Behnam Fomeshi

Behnam Fomeshi, PhD, MA, has taught in the fields of language and literature for over ten years and has taught at the WEA for the last two years. Behnam majored in literature. He is interested in Persian studies, American studies and in particular the intersection of the two. Through close contact with students both international and domestic in different European, Iranian and Australian contexts, he has come to a sound understanding of challenges facing all the students from diverse backgrounds. As an educator, he remains approachable and accessible to his students. He holds himself to the same standards that he holds his students - he strives to become a skilled educator, thinker and learner, and he believes that this is a life-long process.

Cecilia Fonseca

Cecilia completed her first degree and Masters in Law at the University of Coimbra, in Portugal. She also holds a Master of Legal Studies from UTS. Cecilia was previously a lecturer and coordinator of a Law degree in Mozambique. Her interests concentrate on regulation of gender in different systems of law. She also is interested in writing about the relationship between land rights and women as guardians of biodiversity.
