Luciana is a passionate language professional.  She has a Master in Translation and Interpreting Studies and a Bachelor in Modern Languages/Linguistics. Born and raised in Milan, Italy. Luciana loves Italian cinema, music, travel, and teaching. She has been teaching languages for over ten years in various universities and colleges across Sydney, NSW. Her teaching approach is modern, fun, and interactive. She uses a communicative approach so you will start talking (a bit of) Italian from the first day! Ian Burnet has a combined Bsc. In Geology and Geophysics and has an interest in maritime history and historic maps. He is the author of six books on maritime history and the Indonesian archipelago including: Spice Islands, East Indies, Archipelago - A Journey Across Indonesia, Where Australia Collides with Asia - The Epic Voyages of Joseph Banks, Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace, The Tasman Map and Joseph Conrad's Eastern Voyages.

Mayra Camacho is a Spanish tutor, who holds a bachelor's degree in foreign Languages Teaching. With more than 10 years’ experience, both in Colombia and Australia, Mayra has had the opportunity to work with students from a wide range of ages, levels, cultural backgrounds and learning styles. She is quite confident with different language learning approaches such as Communicative Approach, Task-Based Learning and Action Oriented Approach, being them the foundation of her teaching practices. This allows her not only to deliver her lessons in an efficient manner, but also in a fun and engaging way. Mayra believes teaching is a great opportunity to bond with her students, by sharing cultural insights about the target language, and exchanging life experiences. After all, learning another language involves learning another way to think about things.

Perry Celestino, M.A. has been teaching with the WEA since 1985. He is a teaching anthropologist, musician, and traveller. Perry has offered over 100 different courses with the WEA on anthropological, travel and music topics. His main interests are ethnography, Travel in Asia and the Pacific, and Blues music.
