COURSE OUTLINE

• Design, carve and print images in your preferred medium including linocut
• Participate in artists’ co-operative discussion and demonstration of techniques, materials and media

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, student should be able to:

1. Demonstrate a variety of techniques for printmaking
2. Demonstrate ways of printing images without a press
3. Gain an overview of materials and tools used in printmaking

MATERIALS LIST

• Speedball relief print cutting tools (or similar)
• 3x A4 (approx) vinyl or lino print tiles (vinyl tiles are softer to cut)
• $5 at start of term to contribute to class inks / papers / rollers etc.

IMPORTANT: Please arrive to the first class with all the relevant materials. A lack of materials is not just a handicap to you but to the ability to teach. Materials cost is not included in a course fee. In the event of a course being cancelled WEA cannot be held responsible for the purchase of any course materials. We therefore suggest you purchase your materials closer to the time of the course commencing.
