Melissa Gilbert

Melissa Gilbert is a Certified Financial Planner. She also has a Diploma in Financial Planning, Post Graduate Studies with Securities Institute of Australia and BA (Economics). Melissa has over 20 years' experience in the financial services industry, where she has worked at AXA Financial Planning MLC, Macquarie Bank and Colonial Bank and most recently Diamond Financial Solutions as an authorised representative of Charter Financial Planning (a Member of the AMP Group).


Melissa offers specialist advice in respect to financial planning, investments, insurance and superannuation. Among her many speaking assignments, Melissa has lectured for the Australian Stock Exchange, Accounting groups and Evening Colleges. She has also provided financial planning articles for the Australian Business Women’s network, CLEO, VIVE and Family Circle magazines. Melissa was Vice President for Women in Finance, a non-profit organisation for women in the financial services industry to network with peers, and to gain professional and personal development skills outside of their companies/businesses.

Gwen Gill

Gwendoline Gill is an experienced tutor who has worked in a variety of settings as an adult tutor with WEA Central Coast, and St George Community College, and as a tutor in Crafts for Kaszazz (Crafty Kids) for children. She has now developed her own craft consultancy, and is regularly published in craft magazines.

Len Gillespie

Len comes from a training and technical background and has spent more than 25 years in private business helping companies and individuals solve problems and deal with the daily challenges of working with technology.


Teaching in the tradition of T. Krishnamacharya (having completed the Advanced Diploma of Teacher Training with The Yoga Institute) Len enjoys teaching privately in one-on-one sessions as well as exploring the many benefits of practicing Yoga and Meditation in the class setting.


Len is currently studying Yoga Therapy which combines the most effective aspects of traditional Yoga and Ayurveda with modern medicine.

Douglas Golding

Resume

Dr Douglas Golding is a lifelong student and teacher of comparative religion and of Australian and American history. He has travelled widely and studied in the Middle East, as well as in Australia and the US. He has been a lecturer at several Australian universities and has presented findings from his academic research at a number of international conferences in Australia and overseas. He has tutored at WEA for many years, and was elected as a life member of WEA Sydney in 2023.

Nick Gordon

Nick has a University Medal and a PhD in History from the University of Sydney. He has taught Italian and European history at the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney, has run several highly successful lifelong learning courses in Sydney focusing on history and art history, and regularly travels to Europe to lead tour groups and for research.

Christine Graff

Christine has taught French in the UK, the US and Australia at secondary and tertiary levels. She has continued to teach and train adults through her professional life (WEA and Alliance from Beginners to Advanced). She strongly believes in active participation and interactive learning. Christine is passionate about current affairs and the evolution of the French language. Christine travels to France regularly and students enjoy sharing their food and travel experiences during practice conversations. Overall Christine’s classes are relaxed and fun whilst covering language fundamentals.

Daryn Graham

Dr Daryn Graham holds a PhD in Ancient History, two MAs in Ancient World Studies, and a BA Dip Ed in History Teaching. He has taught in High Schools and Community Colleges, and is a regular contributer on archaeological topics for Archaeological Diggings Magazine, as well as being published in a number of journals.
