Anna Imbernon Pijuan

Anna, MA, BA, Dip Ed, is from Barcelona and she has a bachelor's degree in Classic Philology and two masters of education, one of them about Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. She has taught Latin, Ancient Greek, and Spanish (among others) for over 18 years and, she has taught at the WEA since 2021.  Her main interest is the education and transmission of modern and ancient languages. She loves to transmit her passion for these fascinating languages and create an engagement with students to develop fun classes where everyone can learn and enjoy at the same time.

Nazrul Islam

Resume

Md Nazrul Islam holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Hong Kong and an MSc in Community Health and Health Management from Heidelberg University in Germany. With over twenty years of teaching and research experience, he has worked at various universities across Asia, Germany, Canada, and Australia. His research expertise spans Asian philosophy, Asian medicine (including TCM and Ayurveda), South Asian history, and China’s Belt and Road Initiative. He is the author or editor of six books, as well as numerous journal articles and book chapters.

Katherine Jacka

Resume

Katherine completed a PhD on the Norman king of Sicily Roger II in 2018 at the University of Sydney. She has a first-class honours degree in Arabic and Islamic studies and Italian studies from the University of Sydney. Katherine has presented her research on medieval Sicily at a range of international and local conferences and has conducted guest lectures at various universities as well as publishing her work in various publications.
