Burkhard Jahnicke

Dr Burkhard Jahnicke is an independent scholar who is passionate about history. He has an MA in history, politics and law and a PhD in history from Hamburg University, Germany. Burkhard has taught courses at German and Australian universities on twentieth-century European and American history, as well as special courses on intelligence and the history of terrorism. He has published widely, especially on topics related to German foreign policy and intelligence history. Burkhard is a former Executive Director of the International Intelligence History Association. He has been teaching at WEA since 2013.

Mie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Humanities from the University of Copenhagen. In her studies she focused on Danish and Scandinavian literature, language, media and culture. She has been teaching Danish for more than 5 years across Copenhagen, London and Sydney.
