Sandy Killick

Resume

Sandra Killick is a leading authority in democracy education, adaptive leadership & systems thinking. A skilled facilitator, she creates spaces where people can have challenging, messy, necessary discussions about the big ideas that affect us all. Sandy is a social scientist with consultancy experience in education, health, human rights and social policy sectors. She has direct experience of how systems work through her roles with the UNSW Social Entrepreneurship Practicum team, NSW Ombudsman, NSW Premier & Cabinet and the Women’s Electoral Lobby. Sandy also volunteered as a Primary Ethics facilitator to support the development of critical thinking skills. Sandy is an experienced adult educator, Churchill Fellow, Social Leadership Australia alumni and qualified mediator.

Michelle Kim

Michelle holds a Master of Teaching degree with a specialisation in Korean and EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect). With experience teaching Korean in diverse educational settings, Michelle has worked with learners of all ages—from young children to adults. Passionate about language education and cultural exchange, Michelle is committed to creating engaging, supportive learning environments tailored to each student’s needs and goals.

Judith King

Judy King, OAM, MA, Dip Ed has taught History and Politics at WEA since 2011. Before then, she taught HSC Modern History, Ancient History and English in NSW public schools for many years. She has also tutored in Early Modern History at Macquarie University while lecturing in Macquarie's Teacher Education Program. Judy was previously the editor of Teaching History, the professional journal of The History Teachers Association of NSW. She has a particular interest in English and Russian History, a love of film and music, and an abiding interest in politics and current events. She welcomes all opportunities to share her passion for History and Politics with WEA students. Judy attended the Cambridge University History Summer School in 2014 and 2019 and hopes to return sometime in the future.

Matt King

Resume

Matt King honed his audio production skills while completing a music degree at the University of Western Sydney. He is an accomplished musician having toured and recorded with a number of independent bands. Matt’s last band, Hippie Death Star, was on a festival line up in Seoul, South Korea. Matt has also facilitated audio recording workshops for young people at Granville Youth Centre.

Victoria Kitanov

Resume

Victoria Kitanov is a visual artist who specialises in portraiture and maritime themes. Victoria is the founder of Entrée to Arts Pty Limited and her intention is to help others tap into their creative core, find wellbeing and have fun doing it! Commencing her career in commercial art, Victoria worked as a children’s book illustrator for notable publishing houses including Ashton Scholastic, Harper Collins and Angus & Robertson (1985-1998). Victoria has also had a long career in the Library and Information industry and in the Australian Public Service. In 2011 she rediscovered her creative path quite by chance, and since then has forged a new chapter in her creative career. Victoria is an accredited Paverpol™ instructor.

Janine Kitson

Janine Kitson has been a proud teacher working with the NSW Department of Education since 1982. In recent years she has been an active volunteer for many of NSW’s key environment groups. Through this involvement Janine has developed a particular passion for the history of the environment movement.

Adam Koboroff

Resume

Adam began his education and career in science at the University of New England where he completed a Bachelor Degree (Honours) and a PhD. His PhD in Ethology (the science of animal behaviour) investigated intriguing methods that birds employ to defend themselves from predators. From there, he completed a Postdoc on the interaction between rattlesnakes and squirrels. Currently, Adam is a zoo keeper at Taronga Zoo.

Emilie Kolb

Emilie gained her Arts degree at the University of Vienna where she studied German, Philosophy, Psychology and Education. She has extensive experience in teaching the German language: she has been a tutor, lecturer and course coordinator in German Studies at all the major public universities in Sydney; a tutor at the Goethe Institute (Sydney); a tutor and examiner for University access exams and a tutor in German to diplomats and company employees preparing for overseas assignments. As well, she was in charge of developing skills-specific courses in German for the metals, electricity, and wood industries and is the co-author of teaching materials on teaching German as foreign language.


Emilie is an experienced researcher. She was a research asistant for several books on the German-Australian connection by John Williams, and has worked in the German archives, exploring the family history of an Australian descendent of 19th century German immigrants.
In the course of her research work, Emilie have been involved in much German-to-English translation and she has also worked independently of this as a translator.
