Continue developing your beginner Italian fluency and confidence with our Beginner Italian: A1.2 Course, suitable for learners who have completed our Beginner Italian: A1.1 Course or have approximately 20 hours of prior study. This course helps you build stronger communication skills for everyday situations while expanding your understanding of Italian grammar and vocabulary. It is ideal for learners interested in learning Italian for cultural interest or personal enrichment in a supportive and interactive learning environment.
You will practise communication in situations such as ordering food and drinks, making requests, talking about free time, and expressing preferences and opinions. Grammar is introduced naturally in context, including verb conjugations, articles, interrogatives, and frequency expressions. Vocabulary and pronunciation are integrated throughout, covering food, leisure, and daily routines, along with key sound patterns and intonation for questions and statements.
Language courses are offered in two delivery modes:
- Face-to-Face: WEA Sydney
- Online: via Zoom or Microsoft Teams

Grammar
- Nouns and articles: definite articles; plural nouns
- Prepositions and adjectives: a, in, con; bene/buono
- Interrogatives: (che) cosa, quale, quanto, quanti, perché
- Verb forms: verbs in -ere and -ire (volere, preferire, andare, giocare, leggere, uscire)
- Adverbs: frequency (di solito, spesso, sempre, qualche volta, non… mai)
- Structures: mi piace / mi piacciono with singular indirect object pronouns
Phonetics
- Sounds: /k/, /g/ (c, g)
- Sounds: /f/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /s/, /v/ (double consonants)
- Intonation: affirmative and interrogative
Vocabulary
- Leisure activities; asking for the time
