Develop your linocut and relief printmaking practice in an open studio environment for experienced printmakers. Work at your own pace on individual projects, refining established techniques, experimenting with materials and processes, and developing your own creative direction with tutor guidance available as needed.
This course is intended for students with previous linocut or relief printmaking experience who are comfortable working increasingly independently. You do not need to consider yourself an expert; the emphasis is on having sufficient experience to plan and progress your own work while benefiting from demonstrations, cooperative discussion, feedback and the shared experience of the studio group.
- Speedball relief print cutting tools or similar
- 3 x A4 approximately sized vinyl or lino print tiles (vinyl tiles are softer to cut)
- $5 at the start of term to contribute towards class inks, papers, rollers and other shared materials
IMPORTANT: Please arrive to the first class with all the relevant materials. A lack of materials is not just a handicap to you but to the ability to teach. Materials cost is not included in a course fee. In the event of a course being cancelled WEA cannot be held responsible for the purchase of any course materials. We therefore suggest you purchase your materials closer to the time of the course commencing.
