Step into the world of historical calligraphy and learn the graceful Flemish script of the 16th century. This beginner-friendly course introduces essential tools and techniques. You’ll develop control with a broad-edged nib, learn letter construction, spacing and pen angles, and explore decorative elements such as flourishing and capitals. Designed for beginners, this course builds both technical skill and appreciation for the artistry and history of calligraphic writing.

COURSE OUTLINE
- Introduction to writing with a chisel-shaped nib and pointed nib
- Introduction to the Flemish Script, its style, letter construction and characteristics
- We will continue to study letter form and spacing and further refine our skills
- We will study flourishing
- We will study the Capitals
