Russian Nursery Rhymes, folk songs and poems for kids - Listening and watching video presentations of the poems; Careful reading of the poems with attention to the meanings, grammar and pronunciation; Practicing reading the poems aloud; Vocabulary: family members, everyday objects, seasons, nature; Basic grammar: examples of declination and conjugation; Translating poems into English.
Experimental poetry - History of Russian experimental poetry; Avant-guard and tradition in Russian contemporary experimental poetry; Visual poems, combinatorics poems, word-play poems, video poems; Careful reading of the poems with attention to the meanings, grammar and pronunciation; Wordplay and tricks with words in experimental poetry; Practicing reading the poems aloud.
