This two-session course is designed for A2–B1 learners who want to improve their pronunciation and speak more naturally and confidently, while also developing their speaking skills through conversation with other students. Through guided practice, you will gain an overview of Swedish sounds, stress patterns, and the relationship between spelling and pronunciation. The course combines pronunciation training with interactive speaking activities so you can immediately apply what you learn in conversation.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Swedish sounds: vowels, consonants and common pronunciation challenges
  • Word stress: recognising and producing correct stress in Swedish words
  • Sentence stress and rhythm: understanding the natural melody and emphasis of spoken Swedish
  • Reductions and assimilations: how sounds change in faster, everyday Swedish
  • Speaking practice: guided speaking activities to improve confidence, speed and conversational flow

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Improve the clarity of their Swedish pronunciation and be more easily understood
  2. Recognise and practise correct word stress and sentence rhythm in Swedish
  3. Identify and pronounce key Swedish sounds more accurately
  4. Practise techniques that improve speaking fluency and conversational flow
  5. Feel more confident participating in everyday conversations in Swedish
  6. Develop awareness of how sounds connect and change in natural spoken Swedish
