This story is based on the real lives of two extraordinary women, the Egyptologist, Amelia Edwards and the painter who impressed Charles Darwin, Marianne North.

A bit about the author: Georgina Kenyon is a writer, journalist and teacher at community colleges, including the WEA and Sydney Community College. She lives in the Blue Mountains. She has written for the BBC and The Guardian as well as scientific magazines and has worked in conservation for UN agencies.
